Privacy
The short version: it keeps nothing about you.
What it receives
When your assistant uses UK Business Check, it sends a company name or company number. The plugin asks for nothing else and has no use for your name, contact details or conversation. Your assistant may attach technical details of its own to a request.
Who it passes your search to
To answer, the plugin looks the company up with Companies House and The Gazette. They see the company name or number being searched, and that the request came from this service. They do not see who you are.
What it keeps
The plugin writes no logs and the web server is set not to record requests to it. There are no accounts, no cookies and no tracking, and no IP addresses are stored.
It does keep one daily tally: how many checks were made and how many came back as each verdict, such as "12 looks fine, 2 be careful". The tally never includes the company searched for or anything about who asked.
Answers are held in memory for up to an hour so a repeat check of the same company is quicker, then dropped.
What it sends back
Only public information about the company, taken from the Companies House register and The Gazette.
Your assistant
Your conversation happens in ChatGPT or Claude and is covered by OpenAI's or Anthropic's own privacy policy. UK Business Check cannot see your conversation. You can stop using it at any time by disconnecting it in your assistant.
